Reading to baby | Baby advice and tips

If you know me at all, you know I am a HUGE proponent of reading to littles.  Not just toddlers, but even as babies!  We read so much to our littles that they have some of their favorite books memorized and it’s so cute to watch/listen to them “read” to each other!

A dear friend of mine, Rebekah George (who just so happens to be awaiting the arrival of her own set of b/g twins) is putting together their first library, and shared some great ideas for first books!!

Have you heard of Imagination Library created by Dolly Parton?   In 1995, Dolly Parton launched an exciting new effort, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, to benefit the children of her home county in East Tennessee, USA. Dolly’s vision was to foster a love of reading among her county’s preschool children and their families by providing them with the gift of a specially selected book each month. By mailing high quality, age-appropriate books directly to their homes, she wanted children to be excited about books and to feel the magic that books can create. Moreover, she could insure that every child would have books, regardless of their family’s income.  For more information, and to check on availability in your area simply click here and fill in the information!

We love receiving the new books every month, and then donate them after they are outgrown!
